UPD Blotter Update: Cases of Harassment, Ferret Sighting in CCN, and Lost Items

The Brick’s University Police Department report is back for yet another semester. Thanks to the UPD blotter and Lieutenant Walter Butler, we will continue to publicize campus wide reports of burglary, assaults, lost and found items, suspicious incidents, sexual assault crimes, and more. Many cases are still being investigated by UPD, thus leaving a limited amount of information that can be shared about certain crimes.

-On Saturday, Jan. 23, a harassment case was reported from the Farside residence hall. Another case was reported on Friday, Jan. 22. Currently both cases are being investigated and it is not known if they are related. Please be aware of your surroundings and walk in groups if necessary.

-In Alumni Village, a dispute was reported on Saturday, Jan. 23. Two students started an argument that startled residents. The two students later settled the dispute.

-On the first floor of the Humanities building, an unknown person put their graffiti skills to work. In the ladies room, a toilet bowl was vandalized and reported as criminal mischief on Thursday, Jan. 21. The toilet bowl was later cleaned by maintenance workers, but be aware--please don’t make anyone’s job more difficult than it already is. If you see someone vandalizing school property report it to the University Police Department.

-On Wednesday, Jan. 20, a suspicious incident was reported when a student was witnessed carrying a ferret around Campus Center North. This is a reminder that animals and pets are not allowed on campus. It is very dangerous and unsanitary to have any animal around The Hub since food is involved.

-There are a number of lost and found items sitting in UPD headquarters. If you believe you have lost anything, feel free to check with them. In the event that you find an item, please leave it with the department.

If you see or hear anything suspicious or need urgent assistance, you may contact University Police at (914)-251-6900 or visit them in the basement of the Humanities building.
